Smriti Mandhana Shares First Post After Wedding Postponement

Indian women’s cricketer Smriti Mandhana shared her first Instagram post on Friday following the postponement of her wedding to music composer Palash Muchhal. The couple’s wedding was scheduled after Mandhana’s father, Srinivas Mandhana, suffered a medical emergency and was admitted to a hospital; following him, Palash was also hospitalised. Even though both have since been discharged, a new wedding date has not been announced by either family.
Mandhana’s latest Instagram upload was a paid partnership post for a leading toothpaste brand. However, fans quickly noticed that her engagement ring was missing, further fuelling speculation about the wedding being called off. Some social media users suggested the shoot may have taken place weeks earlier, though no confirmation has been provided.
Families Request Privacy Amid Rumours
After Smriti removed all wedding-related posts from her social media profiles, it added another layer to the surrounding curiosity, despite both families having clarified that the postponement was solely due to health emergencies.Palak Muchhal also addressed the situation, requesting everyone to respect their privacy.
Event Company Shares Note After Postponement
The event management responsible for the wedding released a message on Instagram following the postponement; they wrote:“We don’t cross the finish line in every match of life that we play, but it’s always the sportsman spirit that counts. Our team played hard, with joy and pride, and they all certainly deserve a mention. Will see you soon, champion.”
Doctors Attribute Illness to Stress
Dr Naman Shah, Director of Sarvhit Hospital, told ANI that the symptoms experienced by Mandhana’s father resembled a heart attack episode, which could be possible because of wedding preparation stress.
Both families are prioritising privacy, and no speculation can be made until an official announcement is issued. According to family members, the couple is expected to revisit their wedding plans once circumstances improve. Until then, relatives continue to urge the public to respect their privacy.
