Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, known for his shifting political alliances, has described his previous exits from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) as political errors. In a recent address, he promised his supporters that such a situation will not recur, signaling his commitment to a more stable and consistent political approach.

Nitish Kumar’s political trajectory has been marked by sudden shifts, including his exits from the NDA twice. His first departure came in 2013, when he left due to ideological differences over Narendra Modi’s nomination as the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate. He rejoined the NDA in 2017, only to leave again in 2022, citing differences with the BJP’s growing influence in the national politics.

Reflecting on his past decisions, Kumar admitted that leaving the NDA twice caused unnecessary turbulence in Bihar’s political landscape. Despite the critics and naysayers, Kumar now asserts that his future actions will be focused on political stability. As he aligns with the Mahagathbandhan again, he assures the public that this decision is grounded in the long-term welfare of the state.

While some see his vow as a sign of growth and political maturity, others remain doubtful, questioning whether Kumar’s consistency will truly hold in the face of future power dynamics. However, his supporters are optimistic that this new direction will result in more governance-oriented policies for the people of Bihar.
