The Raja Saab Storms Into Sankranthi With Massive Fan Love

Spread the love

Prabhas’ horror-comedy The Raja Saab is set for a worldwide theatrical release tomorrow on 9 January 2026, making it one of the biggest Sankranthi releases of the year. Directed by Maruthi and produced by People Media Factory, the film will release in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The film has cleared censorship with a U/A 16+ certificate after minor edits, and Andhra Pradesh has approved premium ticket pricing up to ₹1000 for premiere shows, signalling strong trade confidence.

Pre-Release Buzz and Audience Reaction of The Raja Saab

Audience response ahead of release has been high-energy but mixed. Fans have flooded social media celebrating Prabhas’ return in a lighter, genre-bending avatar, with overseas markets, especially the US, showing healthy advance bookings.

At the same time, online discussions have raised concerns around VFX quality and tonal consistency based on promotional material. Industry chatter suggests advance bookings in some domestic circuits are slower than expected for a festival release, keeping expectations cautiously optimistic.

Cast, Genre Shift and What’s at Stake

The film stars Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar, with Sanjay Dutt in a key role, and features music by Thaman S. Unlike Prabhas’ recent action-heavy spectacles, The Raja Saab leans into horror-comedy and mass entertainment, marking a notable shift in his filmography.

Positioned as a high-visibility festive release, the film is seen as a high-risk, high-reward project that could redefine Prabhas’ post-pan-India trajectory depending on audience reception.
