Bollywood came back with her Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri on Christmas weekend. The movie starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday has hit theatres amid high expectations but on the first day received a mixed reception from critics and audiences alike, which also led to their stiff box office competition.

Box Office Performance: Dec 25 (Day 1)

The film hit the theatres on Christmas Day and achieved a single-digit opening day collection, with estimates around ₹6.7–₹8–9.5 cr according to early trade figures, a modest performance compared to major holiday releases.
Other estimates placed the opening near ₹7 cr, with bookings around ₹4.28 cr before release.
The box office is currently being dominated by Dhurandhar, which has overshadowed the rom-com release. Another movie that has snatched the attention is the Hollywood blockbuster Avatar: Fire and Ash, which commanded more screens and crowds nationwide. As per industry sources, ‘Tu Meri…’s performance depends heavily on weekend and New Year attendance to build momentum.

Critical & Audience Response

Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri has drawn divided responses from critics and audiences. Some viewers found the film “fresh, youthful, and wholesome”, praising its light-hearted tone. Whereas the majority was negative feedback.
Many viewers find the execution weak and call some parts of the film ‘flat’ or ‘never taking off’.
Major critics, including some major publications, rated the film poorly, highlighting weak chemistry and a lack of story development. On social media, both superstars have always faced criticism regarding their acting skills; we can still find mixed reactions from the audience, from enjoyment to harshness, with some users calling it unbearable or a disappointment.

Professional critic perspective:

Independent reviewer houses described the film as flip and frivolous, noting that it gains some emotional footing only in the second half but overall falls short of expectations for its romantic-comedy ambitions.
The movie was released alongside strong contenders during the holiday window, and Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri didn’t capture the kind of breakout audience surge often seen for big Christmas films, especially compared to long-running hits still thriving in theatres.
