Amid fears of increased tariffs by the United States, Nirmala Sitharaman has assured the Indian export community that the government is fully prepared to counter any challenges that may arise. With US tariffs threatening to disrupt the flow of key exports such as electronics, textiles, and agricultural products, the Indian Finance Minister emphasized that the government was already formulating plans to ensure that exports remain unaffected.

Sitharaman pointed to India’s strong track record of navigating international trade tensions and expressed confidence that the country would continue to thrive in global markets. Plans include bolstering trade agreements with other countries, ramping up the production of high-demand goods, and enhancing logistical infrastructure to better serve exporters.

To further strengthen India’s trade posture, the government is also looking into offering financial aid or subsidies to industries that could face tariff hikes. The Finance Minister reassured stakeholders that India would continue to press for fair trade practices and will not back down in the face of unfair tariffs.
