Marvel Studios has officially released the first teaser trailer for its next epic superhero team-up film, Avengers: Doomsday, and it’s already creating buzz among fans around the world.

Trailer Debut & What We Saw

The 90-second trailer was released online on 23 December 2025, after earlier appearances in select theatres before screenings of Avatar: Fire and Ash were leaked online.

In the teaser, Chris Evans returns as Steve Rogers / Captain America, a role he hasn’t appeared in on-screen since Avengers: Endgame (2019). Steve is shown riding a motorcycle, entering what appears to be a homestead, and quietly preparing to suit up.
In one striking moment, Rogers is seen cradling a baby, suggesting this chapter of his life may explore new emotional territory before he must return to the fight.

The trailer ends with on-screen text: “Steve Rogers Will Return in Avengers: Doomsday.”

A Return That Surprised Fans across the world

Chris Evans’ return as Steve Rogers is one of the biggest surprises in recent MCU history. The actor had moved away from the role following Endgame, where his character’s arc concluded with him passing on the Captain America mantle to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and choosing a peaceful life with Peggy Carter.
Seeing him back, in his iconic suit again, has sparked widespread online discussion, with fans thrilled at the prospect of the original Captain America being back in action.

Alongside Chris Evans, Avengers: Doomsday boasts huge names, coming together from across the Marvel Universe:
Chris Hemsworth (Thor)
Anthony Mackie (Captain America / Sam Wilson)
Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier)
Letitia Wright (Shuri / Black Panther)
Paul Rudd (Ant-Man)
Tom Hiddleston (Loki)
Pedro Pascal (Mister Fantastic)
Robert Downey Jr in a surprising new role as Doctor Doom — the film’s main antagonist.

The cast list also includes stars from fantastic stories, big and small, including members of the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Thunderbolts, a true multi-universe gathering that many fans have been waiting for.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on 18 December 2026 in the United States, forming part of Phase Six of the MCU.

In summary: Marvel has sparked excitement among fans with the first official teaser for Avengers: Doomsday, confirming Chris Evans’ return as Captain America, previewing massive stars teaming up, and setting up one of the biggest crossover films the MCU has ever produced.
