In the early morning hours of March 28, 2025, a deadly encounter in Kathua, Jammu & Kashmir, resulted in the killing of four policemen and the neutralization of three terrorists. The operation was initiated by the Jammu & Kashmir Police, who had received intelligence reports about a group of militants hiding in the dense forests of Kathua.
The security forces, working in tandem with the Indian Army, conducted a surprise raid. However, the terrorists were well-prepared and heavily armed, leading to a fierce gunfight. Despite the violent resistance, the forces managed to eliminate the three militants. Tragically, four brave police officers lost their lives while engaging the enemy.
This encounter, one of the most violent in recent months, has put the spotlight on the persistent militant activity in Jammu & Kashmir, as well as the high-risk nature of counter-terrorism operations. Authorities have promised to honor the fallen officers, calling them martyrs who gave their lives in the service of their country.
